Cat and The Dreamer cover - and an open request

Ta daa!! My first ever book cover!

I'd never considered what the cover would look like, but I'm really happy with it. It's interesting to see how someone else has interpreted the story.

And now for the request...

I've left it a bit late, I know - but until very early this morning, I hadn't seen the cover, or had information about marketing.

I'm wondering whether anyone would like to interview me on their blog, and/or review the novella. I've never organised any kind of blog tour, so I'm not sure how to go about it. What I don't want to do is contact people directly so that they felt obliged to say yes. I understand that a lot of people don't review or host other people.

The actual release day is 14 February - a week today... eeek! - which I know is the date of a couple of blog-fests, so I'm happy to shift around to accomodate other committments.

If you'd like to help me out, please email me through the email on my blogger profile. If you can't, please don't worry, I won't hold it against you :-)

  1. Congratulations! I'm booked all the way into May (scary, huh?) but I'll be glad to do a shout out on February 15 for you. And don't be afraid to ask people - it's part of the gig. I started asking people last October if they'd be willing to host me at the end of this month. No one said no.

    1. Yes, I realise I've left it far too late, in the grand scheme of things, but I didn't want to organise stuff that needed to be postponed later. A shout-out would be fantastic, thanks.

  2. I'd love to! But I'd kind of want to read it first so I could ask some (hopefully) intelligent questions. Can we do it later? (I could still give you a shout out on the 14th.)
Oh, and I like the cover. :)

  3. Oh how fun! I really I could help you out, but I'm feeling all kinds of stressed at the moment, or else I would read it for sure!

  4. Thanks for your comment at my blog. I liked your thought about biscuits.

It's a curious looking cover. I like it! I also like the title.

    1. Thank you. The cover totally suits the story - cover designers are geniuses! (Not completely sure that's how you pluralize genius)

  6. Wow, that's a short time line. I have no experience interviewing authors and have no idea how it's done, but I don't schedule my posts in advance and I'd love to host you on your blog tour. I have no idea how these things work, forewarning, but it's so exciting!

  7. Annalisa, the cover looks great! I really love it.

Unfortunately I don't have time to do the interview before next Tuesday but I can do a blog post with your cover on telling people to come check out your site for further details if you are going to have a blog post up yourself that day? Therefore giving you the exposure of my bloggers without us both getting tied up in knots trying to do an interview in time.

  8. Just a suggestion Annalisa, but if you don't have time to organise anything around the actual time why not do a few things a few weeks afterwards? That's when the initial hubbub has died down, and you might catch a few new readers. (And if it helps at all, I could do something the last week in February I think).

    1. Thanks, Sarah, yes that's what I've done with a couple of the offers I've had. I know some blogs get their schedules full months in advance. I was suffering first-book syndrome - I didn't want to do ANYTHING that might tempt fate. :-/

I'd love to take you up on your offer too!

  9. Annalisa, I'd love to host you! What we could do is this:
First visit - as soon as you like, you come and tell us about yourself and about the book. Provide links with where to buy and a picture of you. Chatty, not too formal.
Late, I'll review the book when I have a chance, but that will just be a a little while before I can. Okay?
Just tell me when you'd like to be on my blog and that's fine with me.
    Melissa

  11. Unquestionably believe that which you stated.
Your favorite justification seemed to be on the web the simplest thing to
be aware of. I say to you, I certainly get annoyed while
people think about worries that they just don't know about. You managed to hit the nail upon the top and defined out the whole thing without having side effect , people could take a signal. Will probably be back to get more. Thanks
