TF Walsh blog tour post

As promised, I'm cutting into my brief blogging breaking and welcoming T.F. Walsh to my blog as part of her Cloaked in Fur tour. Take it away, T.F...

Hi Annalisa, thanks for having me on your blog. Today I want to chat about what lead me to become a writer.

As a child I remember scribbling short stories on the inside cover of my sister’s books, and I have no idea why. Perhaps I was pretending my stories were published, or I secretly wanted everyone to pay attention to me, after all I was the middle child, but whatever the reason, one thing is certain, I’ve always loved telling tales. It may have something to do with my father’s passion for writing. He’s a well-respected Romanian poet and author, and holds the same dedication to books I do. After all, he had converted our family garage into a miniature library, filled with all sorts of books. A grand table ran the length of the room, piled high with papers and books. He still spends his time in the garage today, typing on his computer, which used to be a typewriter, and to be honest that’s exactly how I see myself in many years to come (but maybe not in a garage) creating fictional worlds and characters and bringing them to life. This would completely satisfy me, a fact my husband is well aware of and comfortable with.

What do you see yourself doing in ten years?

Having a break...

It's got to that time of the school holidays where I've realised I can't do it all. So, I'm going to take a break from my blog for a little while. I'm not going anywhere, so feel free to say hi on Facebook, tweet me, email me, or even send your homing pigeon in search of me. All my contact details can be found here.

Having said that, I have one post scheduled for next week - I'm hosting the lovely T.F. Walsh who is currently on her Cloaked in Fur virtual book tour on Tuesday.

I'll catch up with you all again soon!

Insecure in bullet points

Hello first Wednesday of the month, it's lovely to see you. It's Insecure Writer's Support Group time again, of course... follow this link for the linky list to check out other group members, or to join up and share your own insecurities.

I've actually got a few insecurities this month, but nothing new to share. If you've read my blog recently, you'll know all about them.

So here's a really brief list, just to recap:
  • Book sales quite low (although a single sale does push me quite high up the Amazon charts)
  • Not very many reviews (although the ones I've got are mostly very good)
  • Just completed a novel that's so completely unlike anything else I've written I'm considering a pen name for it
  • I think my current WIP revamp is too depressing
  • I've got a bit of a chocolate cake habit going on
  • I'm now the mother of a 14 year old and I don't feel old enough
  • Even after weeks of wearing nothing but skirts and shorts I've barely got a tan on my legs
  • I often go to bed thinking I should have done more with my day

Um, is that enough...? Yeah, that's probably enough. I'm off to visit your real insecurities now!
