What makes you smile?
Just dropping in from the Blog Hop of Joy. I thought your list was cute, and when you mentioned the smell of fresh cut grass I became a little nostalgic for summer. :3
ReplyDeleteI walked past someone's garden just before I wrote the post, and they were cutting their grass - I did feel incredibly summery, despite the gloves and scarf!
DeleteGreat list!
ReplyDeleteFreshly cut grass and fresh crisp linen? Yes, nothing beats that.
Giraffes? That put a smile on my face... have you seen one close up? Such an oddly graceful creature (you know what I mean...?)
Enjoy your weekend!
My local zoo has a giraffe enclosure where they can come quite close - they are so cute!
DeleteYou have a ton of greats here. Cut grass, giraffes, bones settling. Perfect!
ReplyDeleteI spend most of my day in pure bliss :-)
DeleteThose are great joys. I also adore old British comedy shows. :-D
ReplyDeleteThe 70s and 80s was a great time for British comedy.
DeleteI love the sound of the sea, too. Sometimes I find it soothing and other times it makes me restless, but I love it regardless.
ReplyDeleteAnd isn't it wonderful to know how much joy there truly is, and can be, in life? :)
I could have continued writing that list all day!
DeleteI live close to the beach. While I work, I always throw open the windows and doors so I can hear the ocean and smell the salty air. Love it.
ReplyDeleteCurling up with my cat, always makes me feel better.
Pride and Prejudice is a must. As long as it's the Colin Firth version. Cause that's the only Mr. Darcy for me. lol
Unfortunately, fresh cut grass just makes me sneeze! Allergies are a pain in the arse.
How wonderful to be that close to the sea - it would definitely inspire me to write. And the thought of living that close also inspires me to write and sell my work :-)
DeleteGood list!!! :D Love the feeling of curling up with a cat ;)
ReplyDeleteMy cat is so warm on a cold day, and his purr lulls me to sleep :-)
DeleteFresh sheets—I love them! It's too bad I have to be the one to change them. LOL
ReplyDeleteSame here... but I always make sure I'm first in!
DeleteI love curling up with my dogs. I have two cats, but they're not the cuddling kind.
ReplyDeleteAnd yes, how I adore the sun setting after 5pm.
My cat only cuddles when he wants to, other times he just watches me aloofly!
DeleteSitting in the garden reminds me of sitting on my front porch during the summer and sipping my morning coffee. Ahhh I long for warmer days.
ReplyDeleteYes, it's perfect isn't it? I'm hoping for one or two days like that this year :-)
DeleteSnuggling kitties rock! Thank you for sharing your list!
ReplyDeleteAnimals are great.
DeleteI love your list. I love most of those things, too. The sun makes me happy when I see it in the morning. I love P&P. Now I want to watch it again.
ReplyDeleteI want to watch P&P again too :-)
DeleteLove your list. Ah, the chance to read Pride and Prejudice by the sea... Hmm love, love love it...
ReplyDeleteIt would be perfect by the sea.
DeleteYour kids are cool! :D Excellent list - I forgot to add giraffes to mine! :p
ReplyDeleteThanks for being part of the bloghop!
Yeah... my kids are cool! It's been a great bloghop!
DeleteI'd have found the first list hard too - I like the ice caps idea! The second list is great - especially the last item! I share most of them, except for giraffes! Nothing against them, but I'd never really considered them one way or another! If I had to go for an animal it would be an otter or a meerkat I think. Nice to have discovered some more about you!
ReplyDeleteMeerkats are great, but everyone loves them. Everything about giraffes is so bizarre - they always make me happy :-)
DeleteI included snuggling up with my kitty too! Great list. :)
ReplyDeleteThanks Julie. Mine's great to cuddle until he decides he's had enough.
DeleteGreat list! I love giraffes, too! We play 'guess my animal' at dinner with the kids. My three-year-old daughter always has the same animal in her head, a pink giraffe!
ReplyDeleteAw that's so sweet.
DeleteAwesome list. I especially love your last one. That really made me smile. :)
ReplyDeleteOnce you start thinking, it's hard to stop!
DeleteThe sun setting after 5pm is one of my favourite things about February. Nice list!
ReplyDeleteLonger days just make everything feel better, don't they?
DeleteI have the book and the BBC version of Pride and Prejudice; I love, love, love Jennifer Ehle as Elizabeth Bennet. Keira Knightley was good, but Jennifer Ehle was the best. I wanted to participate in the blog hop, but I'm usually only able to write one post this week due to all my graduate work. But I like reading these posts that all of you have written about what makes you happy.
ReplyDeleteI never liked the Keira Knightley film. I think, by then, Jennifer Ehle was so ingrained as being the perfect Lizzie, no one else would ever do!
DeleteHi Annalisa,
ReplyDeleteI have to agree with Pride and Prejudice. In fact, my wife loved it (or Colin Firth) first, and her insistance on watching it often has led to me loving it too!
I also love the smell of cut grass, although it is a double edged sword for me, being a hayfever sufferer!!
Great list - made me smile too!
I love you love Pride and Prejudice. I got Hubby to watch it when it was originally shown only because he was only my boyfriend then and wanted to make me happy. If I asked him to watch it now, he'd run to the nearest PlayStation for sanctuary!
DeleteYou're not the first person to mention hayfever - my son suffers badly as well, we spend the summer walking away from cut grass!
i'm going to amen to the fresh cut grass...i'm gonna add in charcoal BBQ to that. then you have summer's day with a double whammy. make mine a large with fries to go please!
ReplyDeleteOoh yes, the smell of a BBQ always makes me hungry... even if it's not mine! And that would also fit with sitting in the garden with a glass of Pimms :-)
DeleteThanks for taking part, Annalisa; your list is great. I love the smell of freshly cut grass too, and I wish I lived near the sea.
ReplyDeleteIt was really fun Clare. And reading all the posts made me very joyful :-)
DeleteSounds like you made it through both hops! Woohoo!
ReplyDeleteAs for your post - the ocean, always the ocean and Pride & Prejudice...yes, yes, yes!
Yes, kind of made it through both of them :-)
DeleteI am joyful to be sharing the Very Inspirational Blog Award with you:) http://mjjoachim.blogspot.com/2013/03/very-inspiring-blogger-award-round-1.html
ReplyDeleteThank you M.J. I've just stopped by your blog and noticed your post before coming here!
