Oh yea - make up .. I need that!! Scary it is!! I'll see you over there ... creepy crawlies in the dark, clambering out of the mists and grabbing a leg ... see you there - cheers Hilary
Argh, now I'm really scared... You had me at creepy crawlies, Hilary!
Yep, Scary is right up my alley. I think you have to know what scares you first and what doesn't and work from there. As nothing scares me anymore, the bar for my own horror novels is high. But it's different for everyone.
Nothing? Wow, I'll only read your books at high noon... in the summer... with the lights on! :-)
I'll head on over.My husband showed me a film clip the night before last which scared me so much he had to escort me to the bathroom in the middle of the night. A woman took a selfie and as she snapped a dark figure appeared in the background. She took another - the figure appeared closer. She was obviously a little bit afraid by now and the third one she took, the figure appeared in real and bit into her neck. Aaahhh! I have written ghost stories in the past and enjoyed the process but I have to write them during daylight hours.
I saw the stills of that video. Yep, pretty scary!
read your tips - spot on. Understated menace is very key. And I think having people peer into your work window could be creepy - that adds to your stories, I am sure.
Not creepy anymore, just really annoying... especially when they turn their heads to keep looking after they've walked past... grrr!
I'm heading over! :)
Thanks Christine :-)
Been there. Read that. Good job :)
Thanks Elizabeth :-)
Lovely to have you guesting today Annalisa. Can't wait to see all the scary stories that result from your tips. :-)
Thanks for having me, Denise. I'm looking forward to judging the stories.
I don't really like wearing make-up. Heading over now.
I rarely wear it either - I must be very scary most of the time :-)
I read your post there, Annalisa, and shared it on all kinds of social media!
Thanks for sharing :-)
Heading over. :-)
See you there, Misha :-)
An excellent piece, Annalisa. Just right for the spooky story writing season.
Thanks Suzanne :-)
