Occasionally you get one of those years that's just perfect, don't you? And 2013 was one of those years for me!
There was a lot of sea. music and alcohol, and I published my second book. I did a reading in April and a signing in December. I sold some books and several people told me that a couple of my stories made them cry.
Erm, not sure where this is |

I did quite a lot of writing, quite a lot of procrastinating, quite a lot of beta reading. And watches several of my blogger, Facebook and Twitter friends have some fantastic success with their books.
And the sun shone... a lot. It was the best British summer in a very long time. I even managed to develop a tan... well, a very vague tan that I needed to point out to people, but the lines were very obvious to me!
And most of all, I had fun... so much fun!

So, the only thing left to do is look forward to 2014 (unofficially entitled My Nemesis Year).
I wish you lots of happiness, success and love throughout 2014.
Happy New Year xxx
To look back on the year and say it was so good is a wonderful accomplishment! I hope 2014 is the same and/or even better for you! (Although, I'm a little worried that your 2014 already has such an ominous sounding title…yikes!)
ReplyDeleteThank you Madeline, happy New Year! (The title relates to me turning 40!)
DeleteThat's great this year was so awesome for you! Congratulations on the fun and faint tan line.
ReplyDeleteThanks Alex. If the tan line ever returns, I'll make sure there's photographic evidence :-)
DeleteLaughing about the very vague tan...
ReplyDeleteSo glad you had such an awesome year. May it continue on through next year, too (even with the ominous title)!
Thanks MJ - hope you have an awesome year too :-)
DeleteNot a bad year at all. Happy New Year!
ReplyDeleteHeather
Happy 2014 to you too, Heather :-)
DeleteBabe, how much do I love this post! I loved reading about the goodies, your silver spirit--and great pics! I wish you happiness and success back, twentyfold. :)
ReplyDeleteAnd love! Of course.
DeleteThanks Suze!
DeleteSounds like a banner year for you. May 2014 bring you just as much sunshine and happiness.
ReplyDeleteThanks Theresa... I've got my fingers crossed for more sunshine!
DeleteIt has been a wonderful new year. Have a happy 2014.
ReplyDeleteAnd to you, Lady Lilith :-)
DeleteHow lovely to read something positive! May 2014 be even better for you, Annalisa, x Lizy
ReplyDeleteThank you Lizy :-)
DeleteHappy New Year to you Annalisa! It has been a good year, and you've certainly done well. Ever onward and upward. But do use sunscreen. As an "old" person paying for the sins of sun in her youth - trust me - pale is a good thing. I look forward to your next collection and your blogging. All the best
ReplyDeleteLol, I will never be anything but pale. The fact I have to trace the line of my tan for people to see says it all really :-)
DeleteSounds like a great year! Here's to a fantastic 2014! :)
ReplyDeleteThanks Emma :-)
Delete2013 was a good year for me, too! I did a TON of writing, even though only one of my books was actually released. Glad you enjoyed the year, too. Let's raise a toast to 2014 being even better! :)
ReplyDeleteSometimes you have to focus on the writing. Cheers :-)
DeleteSounds like 2013 was good to you. I can say that 2013 was better than 2012, but I wouldn't call it exactly a banner year. Here's to an awesome 2014!
ReplyDeleteYou definitely deserve an awesome 2014 then, Rena :-)
DeleteI'm glad the past year has been so good for you. I hope 2014 is not a nemesis year, and can be just as good for you too.
ReplyDeleteHappy New Year!
So glad you had a wonderful year!
ReplyDeleteI hope 2014 matches it. :-)
Thanks Misha :-)
DeleteSo glad you had a great year, hope 2014 brings you much fun and success too :)
ReplyDeleteLot's of achievements in 2013 and Toasting you to another successful year in 2014! Wishing you a Very Happy and Safe New Years!
ReplyDeleteI must remember to work harder and not get distracted by Facebook so much :-)
DeleteHoping your 2014 is at least as good as 2013. I had a fun in 2013. I want 2014 to be fun, too, but more productive and fulfilling. I want to push myself more. ~Miriam
ReplyDeleteYes, I realised there have been times when I've just coasted along - I wait for my muse far too much! Good luck Miriam :-)
Deletehere's to more fun. :)
ReplyDeleteDefinitely :-)
DeleteWishing you a lovely and successful 2014!
ReplyDeleteThank you Dana :-)
DeleteIt seems to have been a really great year for you! Best wishes for 2014.

DeleteHi Annalisa,
ReplyDeleteWhat a year! And to think we got to see that mysterious glowing orb in the summer :) A fulfilling year for you and getting your second book published. I'm very pleased for your good self.
Welcome to 2014. May your life be even more fulfilling. And may we have another actual summer.
Gary :)
Personally, I still think that glowing orb was a UFO - I'm waiting for the invasion! Hopefully it'll happen next summer, and the summer after that too ;-)
Delete2014 sounds so odd doesn't it? I think it's safe to say we're finally in 'the future'!
Hi Annalisa .. that's great you had a good year and the summer was wonderful wasn't it .. at the moment 2014 is going to be over very quickly - it's blowing a gale and raining buckets!
ReplyDeleteYour photo from Marazion overlooking St Michael's Mount - reminded me of 'home' - my mother's at Gulval .. and then the Hayle shot overlooking Godrevy - we used to play there as kids before it was developed .. the family lived across the bay in St Ives and Carbis Bay ...
Have a great 2014 - with even more achievements and post photos for me! Cheers Hilary
I'm glad you enjoyed my photos. When I was looking through the past year, these are the ones that summed it all up. When I was down in Hayle in April, I spent a lovely day in St Ives.
DeleteOoh! Can you establish an entire year as a nemesis? *glued to the glass -- must know HOW this is going to play out* ;)
ReplyDeleteIt's mostly just my birthday month - I'm hoping the rest of the year will be brilliant. There may be a few panicky posts between now and April, but I'll try not to lump all of it onto my lovely bloggie friends :-)
DeleteHappy New Year... here's to an even better 2014:)
ReplyDeleteThanks Tania :-)
DeleteHappy New Year, Annalisa, and I hope this year is even better. I like the hat! Blessings!
ReplyDeleteThank you :-)
DeleteHappy New Year, Annalisa! I hope 2014 is just as good as 2013 for you :-) (and weather-wise, too!)
ReplyDeleteMy 2013 was all right, but I was a lazy slug through much of it.
ReplyDeleteThe bright side of the subtle tan is less wrinkling when you're older.
Here's to 2014 being as amazing as 2013 plus some.
Oh goodness, laughing aloud at the tan! So glad the year was a good one for you, and wishing you even greater success in 2014. :D
