Kyra Lennon's Game On series is centred around the world of football (although, as it's in America, I guess I should call it soccer), and features a pretty fanciable football player called Radleigh McCoy. She wants to know who my sports crush is... Oh dear, here goes...
Actually this was a lot harder than I thought it was going to be, because I apparently have an inordinate number of sports crushes. So I decided to go with someone who's probably a little less known than the others - because I like to be unique.
Chris Coleman is my crush - Welsh international player and their current coach. He has a lovely soft lilting voice and his eyes are much twinklier than they look in this photo.
Yes, he does have a chin, but it's really hard to find a photo of a football manager when they're not shouting, frowning or otherwise gesticulating in a very odd manner. This is the most normal photo I could find!
(Other crushes may or may not include Freddie Flintoff, Alan Shearer, Kevin Keegan, Roberto Mancini, and the guy at my gym who can do the most amazing press-ups known to man... ahem!)

Go on, it's not too late!

Interesting point. I suppose it is hard to find normal pictures of coaches not yelling, since they do it a lot. I'm not a sports fan, thus no sports crush.
ReplyDeleteThere are only a couple of people who can look good yelling - Hugh Jackman manages to carry it off quite well as Wolverine ;-)
DeleteFootball players do have a certain appeal, and in some pictures Chris Coleman looks damn nice! :)
ReplyDeleteHe looks so much nicer now than when he was younger, actually.
DeleteYeah, most photos of coaches are not the best...
ReplyDeleteI guess if they took good photos on the field they wouldn't be doing their job properly!
DeleteI do wonder why people always take pictures of coaches shouting or whatever. Hehehe! Love your addition of the guy at your gym.
ReplyDeleteBecause that's all coaches do! If you saw the guy at the gym you'd understand ;-)
DeleteLOL I never thought of it until now but you're right - it's next to impossible to find a "normal" picture of a coach.
ReplyDeletePerhaps coaches aren't 'normal'??
DeleteYes, he's very nice, Annalisa.
ReplyDeleteIt was one of the reasons why I stopped going to the gym - too many distractions. The other was the fact that I had to do two long walks each day with the dog - very few distractions now - only an odd jogger (very odd)!
I use cute guys as motivation - it's amazing how much attention you get when you can lift the same weight as the men can ;-)
DeleteHaha! You totally should have posted an angry picture. --A yelling picture. That would have been awesome. (But this one's great too.) ;)
ReplyDeleteI wanted him to look cute, or you'd have questioned my judgement!! :-)
DeleteI can't comment on soccer players - Beckham is the one I know. But I do like Rafa Nadal in tennis and actually a photo of him from the back as he's ready to pounce on a serve is a guilty pleasure.
ReplyDeleteTennis players have great upper bodies!
DeleteI'm hosting Tara today, so I plan to roll out my crush later. Until then, I must do some very thorough research of hotties, um, I mean athletes ;)
ReplyDeleteI had no research to do, I might do some now though just to make sure I made the right choice!
DeleteThere are some good-looking athletes out there, but I don't have any sports crushes because I don't even know how to play most sports without getting hit by the ball.
ReplyDeleteYou don't have to play the sport top check out the cuties!
DeleteHe looks a little like Chris Sarandon, the actor. Much younger of course.
ReplyDeleteI just had to Google him because I don't know the name at all - and find he was in The Princess Bride, love that film!
DeleteI had the same problem. To many to name, plus, I had sufficiently covered my number one crush on my blog ad-nasuem. I know nothing about soccer (sorry, I can't call it football, maybe futbol, is ok.), except there are a lot of cuties that play it.
ReplyDeleteLots and lots of cuties in all sport. The problem in English football is the cuteness is superseded by smugness which is much less attractive!
DeleteI've never heard of that guy! But wait til I do the rock star crushes blog hop! ;) I must also add, Alan Shearer is HOT! <3
ReplyDeleteThanks for joining in!
Shearer has just a twinkle in his eye ;-)
DeleteHi Annalisa,
ReplyDeleteOne moment, please....Argggghhhh!!! not another blog hop! Sorry about that :)
Ah yes, that football as opposed to football, football aka soccer in Canada and America. Your sporting references will be lost on a number of our North American friends. My human is quite the sporting guy. Well, that's what he tells me!
Pawsitive wishes,
Penny the Jack Russell dog and modest internet superstar! :)
Sorry about the blog hop Penny :-) No greyhound crushes then?
DeleteEnjoyed Game On. Will have to check out her latest...
ReplyDeleteTina @ Life is Good
Blindsided is a great book, and I'm really looking forward to the rest of the series.
DeleteUm ... as someone who doesn't follow sport (or the people who play the sports), I have to admit that I don't have a sports crush!
ReplyDeletePS - We call it soccer here in South Africa ;-)
You're really missing something by not having a sports crush - I suggest rugby players because they have great legs. Just watch the national anthems, ogle the legs, then switch off :-)
DeleteA sports crush? I can't think of one. I'm not really a big sports fan, but it is a fun idea for a blog hop.
ReplyDeleteThere are some really cute sportsmen out there... :-)
DeleteThe guy at the gym, huh? ;D
ReplyDeleteEr, yep ;-)
