Except, once again, I'm not feeling overly insecure. This has happened about three times since the very first post almost a year ago (we're two days short of a full year). That's not bad, is it, three secure moments in a year! (Well, I hope there have been more than that, or else I'm in BIG TROUBLE!)
The reason this time is because I'm writing a new novella, rewriting some old stories to keep my submission levels up (I've been very bad at submitting this last year or so), I have a short story online at Alfie Dog Fiction and... it's my wedding anniversary today!
14 years!
I know, I'm not old enough to have been married for 14 years, right?? LOL!
I would post pictures, but this was before digital photography so the photos are actually in a big box stored in a big inaccessible cupboard. Just so you know: I look fifteen and very scared, and Hubby is wearing big round 1990s glasses which makes it look as though I'm marrying Harry Potter. There, that's enough description to help you imagine the scene.
Anyway, I'm probably not going to be around much today, but I'll try my best to visit insecure writers tomorrow.
Is anyone else celebrating today?
Wait... three whole secure moments in the same year? I'd say that's pretty spectacular.
ReplyDeleteCongratulations on your anniversary.
I know! I'm going for a fourth really soon :-) And thanks.
DeleteHave a lovely anniversary, congratulations.
ReplyDeleteThanks Suzanne :-)
DeleteCOngratulations, 14 years is something to be proud of!
ReplyDeleteSiv Maria's blog, Been there, done that...
When I get over being shocked, I'll remember to be proud :-)
DeleteHappy Anniversary! I hope you have a wonderful day! :D
ReplyDeleteThanks Kyra.
DeleteOh happy anniversary. 14 years, that's amazing! :)
ReplyDeleteI know - he really should have given up on me years ago lol!
DeleteCongratulations! Enjoy the day! We're close in our anniversaries - mine's on the 9th :D
ReplyDeleteThanks Marta. I hope you have a great day on the 9th!
DeleteHappy anniversary, Annalisa! Fourteen years -- how perfectly lovely. :)
ReplyDeleteThanks Suze. Apparently my marriage is a day younger than Google. So that's a piece of useless knowledge I'll always be able to share!
DeleteHappy Anniversary, and yes -- I can picture the photograph! Congrats!
ReplyDeleteThanks Dianne :-)
DeleteHappy Anniversary - 14 years is great (and no you don't look old enough to be married that long). The nice thing about getting older is less insecurity (I think). Sounds like you are on a writing roll and that just builds confidence. Well, enjoy your celebration
ReplyDeleteAw how sweet of you! I definitely feel more secure in myself than I did 14 years ago. I have much less concern about what other people think of me, which means I'm much more myself when I meet new people. And the writing is finally starting to pay off - yay! (That's been more like a 22 year relationship!)
Deletehappy anniversary from someone who's been happily married for almost 26 years. and i don't think i'm that old.
ReplyDeleteTime plays tricks. I think I might be a time-traveller but not know it yet!
Deletecongrats and congrats! maybe your secureness will rub off =)
ReplyDeleteI hope it will rub off on me Tara - then everyone else gets to share it :-)
DeleteCongratulations! Go enjoy the day with your husband.
ReplyDeleteI decorated and we took the kids for an ice-cream... does that count?
DeleteI got married at 15 too ;)
ReplyDelete(I shouldn't joke about that...I live in West Virginia and marrying at 15 isn't totally unheard of...for the record I was 23.)
Oops, you got put in spam again. Lol. The only person I wanted to marry at 15 was Johnny Depp... actually, that goal hasn't changed now :-)
DeleteWhoo! 14 years! Hope you got spoilt silly. It's wonderful to hear you've felt secure at least 3 times in a year - long may it continue! :-)
ReplyDeleteThanks Linda. Not spoiled, but it's his day too - I bought the ice-creams!
DeleteCongrats!
ReplyDeleteCongrats! Love the description :)
ReplyDeleteAllison (Geek Banter)
Happy Anniversary and here's to many more secure moments!
ReplyDeleteThanks Rebecca - I hope so, it's fun being secure!
DeleteHappy anniversary! I loved the description too!
ReplyDeleteThanks Cherie.
DeleteHappy Anniversary! Glad to hear that you aren't feeling insecure!
ReplyDeleteThanks C.M - I'm sure the insecurity will return for next month's post :-)
DeleteHuge congrats both on the anniversary and on a rare moment of security! May you have many more of both of them. :-)
ReplyDeleteThank you Lexa, I hope so!
DeleteCongrats on fourteen years. That's a great accomplishment these days.(: It's good to know that you're enjoying some moments of security. Bask in them while you can, LOL. Wishing you all the best on your big day.
ReplyDeleteThanks Andrea :-)
DeleteHAPPY ANNI! Wow 14 years is a long time! I celebrate my 10th this November. :)
ReplyDeleteAnd yay for not feeling insecure!!
Thanks PK, I'm trying not to think of it as a 'long time' though :-)
DeleteHappy Anniversary! And congratulations on your feelings of SECURITY! How blessed you are:)
ReplyDeleteThanks. Security never lasts though, does it?
DeleteAwww, you married Harry Potter, so cute!
ReplyDeleteFunnily though, he's not keen on being called cute :-)
DeleteHey,
ReplyDeleteHappy belated 14th anniversary :)
Doesn't it make you feel old when, instead of clicking on a picture folder on the laptop, you stop looking under the bed... put your hands on your lap and try to remember where the box of pictures are :)
Yes, just as old as I felt when I stumbled across a box of old music cassettes!
DeleteHappy anniversary a day late!
ReplyDeleteCongrats on the anniversary and the short story. My wedding photos aren't digital either.
ReplyDeleteIt's amazing how quickly I've got used to photos being on my hard drive. I thought I'd always want to see albums, but now they look so old fashioned!
DeleteBelated congratulations on your wedding anniversary! I'm celebrating Friday! A good enough excuse to sit and ponder a while...with a glass of wine.
ReplyDeleteI'm another one not doing so well submitting stuff. I need a better plan. :-)
Thanks, and congratulations to you too. I'll have a glass of wine too :-)
DeleteIt's great to celebrate sometimes...:) For me I'm celebrating a new story idea I just got over the weekend:)
ReplyDeleteGood luck with your new idea!
DeleteThree times worth of not being an insecure writer has got to be a major good sign. I know it would be for me!! Hope you had a great anniversary and of course you don't look old enough. You must have been married when you were ten. That's what I always tell people when they say I don't look old enough to have a son in his forties!
ReplyDeleteThanks Rosalind - I'll remember to tell people I was ten. Actually, that's how old Hubby looks :-)
DeleteCongrats on your Alfie Dog story!
ReplyDeleteThanks for mentioning Alfie Dog on your blog :-)
DeleteHappy Anniversary Annalisa. You should show more enthusiasm on your anniversary, after all you married a magical guy..(hence the Harry Potter glasses). I wish you both great happiness. And a great writing week for you.
ReplyDeleteThank you :-) I'm sure Hubby would say he was magical with or without the Harry Potter reference. I plump for 'not bad' :-D
DeleteCongratulations on your anniversary! And on the short story!
ReplyDeleteI'm excited to hear you're working on a new novella! :) Yay.
Thanks Rachel :-)
DeleteHappy Anniversary, Annalisa. Such a beautiful name. Happy IWSG, sorry I'm late. Sept 5th was a beautiful sunny day and I sat out on the deck and read a bit. That may not sound like anything special, but winter's right around the corner. In fact today I'm freezing. My dear hubby built me a fire in the fireplace though, and now I'm toasty warm. I'm rambling, which must mean it's time to make dinner. I ramble when I'm hungry. Nice meeting you, Annalisa. I'm now a new follower.
